Vaulted House

Vaulted House is a reaction to a unique London townscape site where the architecture amplifies light and nature. Triple vaulted roof construction opens up views of the sky and neighbouring mature Frisia tree creating a cavernous top lit living space.

The core brief was to transform an awkwardly arranged one-bed flat into a two-bedroom family home. The original Victorian building was designed with a short outrigger and had been previously extended at the back. Conservation Area consent was achieved to remove the poorly constructed addition and make further extensions to create a 9m long single storey new-build extension to the rear. The elongated roof scape harnesses the length of the site to create a lofty light filled contemporary home.
