Tranquil House

Tranquil House is a two storey Victorian semi-detached property located along the north side of Queens Park, London.

Working within the strict requirements of a Conservation Area, this project sensitively combines traditional design with a contemporary intervention, seeking similarity through materials and maintaining a visual continuity.

The project sees the reconfiguration of the ground floor, with particular respect for the original Victorian character, which distinguishes the front of the house and, a more contemporary open-plan living space at the rear where the extension meets the private garden. 

The key to this scheme is the relationship between the living spaces and the garden; indoor and outdoor spaces merge harmonically.
