Residential refurbishment in Brockley, South London, which transforms a dated terraced property into a highly refined and crafted home. With a few simple but highly considered alterations to the internal layout, either by shifting room locations or creating openings, has meant the existing building was able to hold all the client requirements in the most efficient way, without the need to extend or add to the existing property. This conscious concept decision meant both financial and environmental impacts were restricted, and allowed funds and energy to focus on the highly crafted internal timber joinery and finishes which unifies the whole design throughout.
“It's been a real pleasure living with Kevin's design. The interior is calming, and built with an eye for materials which make the property feel harmonious without becoming too uniform. We particularly liked the use of the datum line - which is a simple design intervention, but which pulls together the project simply and clearly.”
