Clay House

Bureau de Change has recently completed Clay House, an unconventionally shaped rear extension in East Finchley that introduces a sunken living room and ornamental red clay tiles as its defining elements. The project thoughtfully integrated design inspirations from both the Victorian architecture of the original semi-detached dwelling and the sunken boxing rings characteristic of the same historical period.
Tailored to the requirements of a family of three, this rear extension not only provides a dedicated space for leisure and entertainment but also accommodates for their extended family. The owners were keen to build a contemporary extension rooted in the history of the building that adds value to the site and the area through architectural quality and environmental sustainability.
