Chatsworth Road

This project addresses two design challenges of the typical London terrace, the first, how to reimagine a small one- bed flat to meet the needs of a young family, and second, how to reinvigorate a poorly converted shop front, on a busy high street.

Chatsworth Road is a deceptively spacious and light-filled home, two bedrooms and bathroom occupy the existing footprint whilst a new upper floor provides an open living space with west facing terrace. Meanwhile, at street level, a sense of enclosure is established and the proportions of traditional frontage are subtly reintroduced, giving a nod to its previous life.
