44 St Aidans Road is a small 2 storey Victorian terrace with a small garden at the rear. The existing kitchen was cramped, dark, cold, and unfit for a family of 5. The project consists of a small rear and side return extension to house an open plan kitchen with a dining area and reading corner in direct connection with the rear garden. A large glazed door and an oversized roof light have been strategically positioned to offer views to the outside from deep in the plan, flooding the ground floor with natural light and creating a flowing space with plenty of storage.
