Four inventive design solutions were proposed to increase the existing living space. The first was a side return, utilising dead space in the garden and extending the kitchen with the feature of a long glazed roof. The second was a 1.5m extension to the side of the house, doubling the size of one teenager’s bedroom and relocating the bathroom to form a snug. The third was a loft extension that created a split level bedroom for the second teenager. The fourth was a garden room and re-landscaping of the garden to complete the scheme.
